With funding from the European Union under the EU4Business Initiative, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) helped Uspekh Pro, a wholesale supplier and retailer of computer and digital equipment from Belarus, create and launch its own internet store and increase online sales by four times.

The EBRD helped Uspekh Pro, a wholesale supplier and retailer of computers and digital equipment from Belarus, create its own internet store (www.texus.by), launch online sales of computer equipment, and increase online sales by four times.

Uspekh Pro LLC is an importer of computer and digital equipment that owns “Technics of Success”, a chain of retail stores in Belarus. The business was founded 15 years ago in Brest.

Originally, the business was a wholesale supplier of computer and digital equipment of leading world-famous brands for corporate clients in Belarus. Later, the owners of the company recognised retail trade as an important direction for the company’s strategic development. Along with offline retail stores, online sales were projected to take a significant share of total sales. Uspekh Pro initially sold their products online using an external trade platform, but later approached the EBRD to develop and launch its own online store.

The EBRD attracted Noviy Site LLC, a Belarusian web-studio, who:

  • Developed an attractive, mobile-friendly design for the store;
  • Created a user-friendly catalogue navigation and functionality to select and purchase goods;
  • Integrated the internal automated accounting system;
  • Optimised the store for online promotion;
  • Ran the promotion on the domain www.texus.by.

After the project’s completion, the company continued its cooperation with the consultant, who helped extend the functionality of the internet store, including the addition of personal accounts and a loyalty programme. Within a year after the end of the project, Uspekh Pro fully shifted its online sales of computer and digital equipment from partner advertising and sale platforms to its own online store. This allowed it to exclude costs on external platforms, forward resources into the promotion of its own online store, and bring a target audience to the site. The project resulted in a 42% increase in online orders, and online revenues increased four times in one year.

Uspekh Pro plans to increase its share in the online market of computer and digital equipment, opening trade representative offices in regional cities in Belarus and extending its delivery coverage.
