SME Development and DCFTA in Georgia
The project assists Georgian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in becoming more competitive and adapting to the new environment under the free trade agreement with the EU (DCFTA) by supporting cluster development in selected industries (film, furniture, apparel, and ICT), integrating Georgian clusters into European networks, supporting participation in trade fairs and study tours.
The project also helped establish DCFTA Information Centre of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) with regional offices in Gori, Zugdidi, Kutaisi and Batumi. The offices are run by local experts. DCFTA Information Centre consults local entrepreneurs, organizes seminars, trainings, and field visits to raise awareness on trade with the EU. The project support of the DCFTA Information Centre will continue through July 2019.
