A two-day eventon ‘The role of SMEs in the development of tourist destinations in the Poltava region’ takes place in Poltava on 14-15 May. The event is organised by the Sumy Business Support Centre with the EBRD as part of the EU4Business initiative.
The deadline for registration is 8 May.
The topics of the workshop include:
- promotion of self-employment and development of micro-entrepreneurship by using cultural heritage objects;
- festivals as a tool for stimulating the tourist appeal of the region;
- opportunities for cooperation between tourism businesses from the Sumy and Poltava regions;
- the Poltava tourist region and the need to train SMEs in order to create a tourism product;
- business opportunities provided by the EBRD.
The event includes a small trip across one of the tourism routes in the Poltava region, where experts will provide their recommendations on the effective development of the local tourist territory.
The Sumy Business Support Centre is part of the EU-funded Network of Business Support Centres, which aims to improve the competitiveness and bankability of Ukrainian SMEs through the provision of business advice and capacity building. It also supports BSOs in 15 regions of Ukraine in setting up a network of EU4Business Business Support Centres (BSCs). At least 30,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs will benefit from the project.
