OECD Eurasia Week 2018 takes place in Paris on 19-21 November around the theme “OECDeurasia@10: Drawing the Lessons, Shaping the Future”.
This year’s Eurasia Week will include a peer review of Azerbaijan on the topics of the SME Roadmap and Inclusive Investment in the Consumer Goods Sector, and a monitoring review of Georgia’s SME Strategy. Both sessions will discuss the reports that the OECD team has developed in the last year in cooperation with national governments as part of the EU-funded regional programme ‘EU4Business: from Policies to Action’.
OECD Eurasia Week will include a Ministerial Panel and peer reviews of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine in the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Roundtable. There will also be dedicated sessions on connectivity and regional economic integration and on policies to promote gender equality.
As 2018 marks the 10th anniversary of the creation of the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Programme, participants are invited to reflect on the main lessons learnt over a decade of challenge and reform in the region and to consider how those lessons should shape policy agendas for the years to come.
As in previous years, OECD Eurasia Week 2018 will bring together senior policy-makers from both Eurasia and OECD countries, experts and representatives of international and regional organisations, civil society, and business for a rich discussion of the socio-economic challenges facing the region.
EU4Business: From Policies to Action is a regional project implemented by the OECD, which supports competitiveness and business environment reforms in the Eastern Partnership countries, working both at country and regional level.
