A three-day EU4Business workshop takes place this week in the village of Rîșcova in Moldova, aimed at young people thinking of setting up their own business. The BusinessCool workshop on 14-16 September is organised by EcoVisio and the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE) under the EU4Business initiative.
The event aims to introduce participants to simple and practical instruments that will encourage them to make the leap from project idea to successful business.
The event is aimed at 18 to 35-year-olds from rural or regional areas of Moldova who are thinking about starting their own business, want to keep developing an existing business idea and/or are in the final year of high school or university and considering a career in entrepreneurship.
Questions that will be addressed during the workshop include:
- how do you go about building a business model?
- how do you effectively test your idea on the market?
- who are your clients and how do you reach them?
- what resources do you need in order to perform your activity?
- which bank and what type of loan are the most fitting for your business plans?
- which risks may appear and how do you minimise their impact?
For most of us, the concept of entrepreneurship resonates with the idea of economic growth and development. However, the entrepreneurial spirit must be cultivated and encouraged on a continuous basis and the development of the skills and knowledge necessary for the successful business development must take place in a practical and collaborative environment,” says Dorin Gaidău, Investment Manager for EFSE.
The European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE) was initiated by KfW Development Bank (KfW) with the financial support of Germany and the European Union under the EU4Business initiative. EFSE focuses on assisting local financial sectors in strengthening their ability to ensure adequate and sustainable financing. The funding the EFSE provides as finance primarily for micro and small enterprises (MSEs) – but also for private households in the form of home improvement loans – is channelled to these loan customers through local partner lending institutions.
