The second Financial Fair for SMEs will take place in the city of Kharkiv on 26 April, organised by the German-Ukrainian Fund with the financial support of the German government and the participation of local partner banks.
The financial fair for SMEs is a unique platform, which provides small and medium-sized enterprises with an opportunity to receive up-to-date information on banking, leasing and insurance products for SMEs and other available sources of funding. This is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to get business advice, as well as to establish new contacts and partnerships.
The Financial Fair is one of the main events in the Ukrainian business environment, which will highlight the annual results of cooperation between the Fund and its partners based on specific case studies. The event will bring together representatives of SMEs, financial institutions, organizations contributing to entrepreneurship development, and state authorities for further progress. The fair includes 15 speakers, 5 financial institutions and 3 panel discussions. Speakers will include officials from the GUF, the EU Delegation to Ukraine, and Ukrainian state officials.
The fair is intended to provide information about government policy on SME development and European experience in implementing SME support policies, the latest lending programmes for entrepreneurs, as well as international experience of supporting SME financing, based on examples from countries such as Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia.
The German-Ukrainian Fund also supports access to finance through the EU4Business SME Finance Facility, implemented by the GUF, with funding from the EU and Germany through the German Development Bank KfW. The emphasis in Phase II of the SME Finance Facility is to stimulate local currency lending, especially for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Ukraine that are not earning foreign currency and cannot afford the high costs of borrowing.
