On March 6, Belinvestbank will organise a business meeting on the development and support of women's entrepreneurship under its ‘Successful’ project – implemented with the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development and the EU4Business Women in Business programme. The event – at the Beijing Hotel in Minsk – will see women entrepreneurs share their experience with their colleagues.
The meeting is open to all entrepreneurs: all you need to is to fill out a form telling about your business. A bonus at the meeting will be an award ceremony for the most promising women entrepreneurs at the event.
The business meeting will highlight the intermediate results of the ‘Successful’ project for the development and support of women's entrepreneurship, which Belinvestbank has been implementing since March 2017 together with the EBRD.
"In Belarus, about 30% of women are engaged in entrepreneurial activities. And we want not only to increase this figure, but also to provide all-round assistance to women who want to translate their business ideas into reality," a spokesperson for Belinvestbank said.
As part of ‘Successful’, a number of business meetings took place in 2017, not only in Minsk, but also in the regional centres of the Republic. The programme provided both expert support from experienced financiers and business coaches, and financial opportunities, allowing Belarusian women entrepreneurs to create and develop their business. Approximately 250 women entrepreneurs took part in the programme. As a result, more than half of the project participants have already applied for the development of their own business in five regions of Belarus.
At the event, representatives of Belinvestbank will talk about how the programme will develop in 2018, and also share the results achieved. Women entrepreneurs will have a unique opportunity to communicate with like-minded people, to establish profitable and interesting contacts, to learn from the experience of successful women entrepreneurs, and be inspired by new achievements.
The EBRD’s Women in Business programme, funded by the EU under the EU4Business initiative, helps women-led small and medium-sized enterprises to access the finance and the know-how they need to grow. Under the programme, the EBRD provides access to finance through credit lines to local banks dedicated to women-led SMEs, alongside business advice to help businesses become more competitive. The programme also offers training, mentoring and other support to enable women entrepreneurs to share experiences and learn from each other as peers.
