Up to 15 Armenian precision engineering companies will be able to take part in a top digital technology exhibition being held in Yerevan from 29 September to 1 October 2017 – thanks to EU4Business.
The companies, who will participate in the annual DigiTec Expo, are being supported under the SMEDA (Support to SME Development in Armenia) project, co-funded by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
DigiTec is the largest international technological exhibition in the region and has been running since 2005. It aims to create a favourable environment for networking among technological companies, business consumers and society.
More than 70,000 visitors and 150 participants are expected. Official delegations from Japan, China, India, Germany, Austria, Canada, Ukraine, Belarus, the Republic of Moldova and Georgia, among others, will visit the exhibition.
Precision engineering (PE) is one of the focuses of this year’s event and one of the main areas SMEDA is supporting with the objective of developing a PE cluster in Armenia.
Other special themes at DigiTec Expo this year will be:
• artificial intelligence and machine learning
• augmented and virtual reality
• game development, and
• technological education as a catalyst for the development of the Armenian technological community.
