Support to the European Business Association Armenia
The project supports the European Business Association (EBA) in Armenia, which acts as a voice for the European Business Community and promotes integration and cooperation between Armenia and the EU, as well as advocating for improvements to the business environment, encouraging foreign investments and working to improve the relevant legislative framework.
Objectives
- To improve the existing regulatory framework and business environment, and bring it into line with European standards and practices
- To develop a Public-Private Dialogue platform in Armenia
- To advocate businesses’ rights on a fair platform
- To improve the investment climate and support foreign investors
- To facilitate the integration and cooperation of Armenian and European companies
- To strengthen the business development skills of companies and create networking and matchmaking opportunities for businesses

EU-affiliated businesses in Armenia and their Business Support Organisations (BSOs).
Activities
- Work on improvement of tax, customs legislation and procurement for a better business environment
- Improvement of transparency of information
- Supporting and advocating for EU businesses in Armenia
Results
In the project’s first two years, accomplishments have included exploratory studies and a forum on business impediments in Armenia, as well as setting up initial discussions and meetings between the main stakeholders, signing a Memorandum of Understanding regarding the major impediments for businesses in Armenia among BSOs operating in the country, and implementing activities to follow up for solutions. The EBA has become a board member of the number of public councils, aiming to raise business issues at the appropriate levels.
