‘Women’s Management’ meeting to boost female entrepreneurs in Belarus

The event, organised by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Minsk on 8 August 2017, targeted women entrepreneurs working in the country. Participants came away with tips and techniques on how to manage staff as well getting more information on the EBRD’s Women in Business programme.

Olga Kuznetsova (EBRD) opened the meeting and introduced the Women in Business programme to the audience. She also announced the date of the first national women entrepreneurs’ conference in Minsk ‘Business Territory: Women’s Vision’ which takes place on 7 September 2017.

Two speakers tackled human resource issues. Olga Shaban’s (Manager and founder of Altatek, men’s clothing brand PAL ZILERI) gave advice on managing female staff effectively and presented conflict-management strategies. Managing male employees and selling to male clients was the main focus of Alla Kashkhan’s intervention (founder, Deputy Director of the LLC ‘Art-tem’ group).

Anna Grigoryeva (Deputy Head of Mission of the German company Convex International GmbH) raised the issues of professional growth and its impact on personal growth and vice versa.

The meeting was organised by Olga Kuznetsove (EBRD, National Manager for Advisory for Small Business) and Oksana Knyazeva (Ownership Partner at KnyazevaBridge). It is part of series of events and programmes supported by EU4Business to encourage women entrepreneurs in Belarus to flourish and so boost the wider economy.
