EU4Business has launched a new project in three Armenian provinces – Lori, Syunik and Armavir – to train young people in growing their start-ups.

Successful Start, launched in May by the Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Center (SME DNC) in Armenia, will help scores of budding entrepreneurs establish viable companies by developing their business skills and helping them access new sources of finance and markets.

At least 135 start-ups and entrepreneurs will be selected to participate in Successful Start. The programme will be organised into three courses of 15 people per region.

Development of business plans

Most participants will develop business plans, under the guidance of coaches, as part of their training and receive follow-up consultancy to further their aims.

They will also be trained in business planning, marketing and management, particularly financial.

Successful Start is aimed at young entrepreneurs with ideas and willing to start a business, as well as existing start-ups with up to three years of state registration.

The project expects to create at least 10 new jobs and over 20 new companies. It is part of the “Boosting Competitiveness of Regional SMEs” project launched in Armenia at the end of 2016.
