Round table discussion of the analytical study “Value chain analysis.Textile and sewing sector of the Republic of Belarus” took place in Minsk on December 05, 2019

On December 5, 2019 in the framework of the Eastern Partnership. Ready to Trade. EU4Business Initiative, project funded by the European Union, a round table discussion on “Value Chain Analysis. Textile and Sewing sector of the Republic of Belarus” was held in Minsk, Belarus.

The event was organized by the International Trade Center (ITC) in cooperation with the Belarusian Fund for Financial Support of Entrepreneurs.

Analytical study “Value Chain Analysis. Textile and Sewing Sector of the Republic of Belarus”, performed by ITC, was dedicated to the analysis of key competencies, opportunities and constraints to increase competitiveness and export promotion  of the textile and clothing sector of the Republic of Belarus to the international markets with priority on the EU.

During the event, representatives of private sector, academic community, business support organizations and governmental bodies discussed the issues of improving the competitiveness of the textile and clothing industry in Belarus, measures to support export and internationalization of SMEs to world markets and global value chains.

It is expected that the results of the round table will serve as the basis for continuing the discussion on interventions needed to be taken at the textile and clothing industry of the Republic of Belarus to enhance capacities of the small and medium-sized textile and clothing enterprises of Belarus  to enter to  global value chains and new markets with focus on the EU.

Ready to Trade project, funded by the European Union EU4Business initiative, works with SMEs in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine to help them target and access foreign markets, with a special focus on the European Union.
