Rewarding the best women entrepreneurs in Moldova

The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Organisation (ODIMM), in partnership with the National Women's Platform of Moldova, has launched its annual contest to reward the best women entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova. The deadline for entries is 22 November.

The contest aims to identify and recognise the most talented and successful women in business, who have achieved remarkable results in various fields of activity, contributed to the creation of suitable working conditions, participated in the socio-economic development of the community where they work.

Awards will be given in the following categories:

  • Beginner of the year - New product on the market
  • Start of the Year - Innovative Start-Up
  • Contribution to Society - Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Big prize. Entrepreneur of the Year

To enter, participating enterprises must check the rules of participation, and complete the registration form by 22 November.

The Winners will be awarded on November 25, 2017, during the 3rd edition of the National Women's Forum of Moldova, entitled ‘Female Entrepreneurship - Regional Development Potential’.

In 2017, ODIMM's portfolio was complemented by two new business support programmes dedicated exclusively to women: the National Women's Business Pilot Programme and the Business Academy for Women, designed to boost the number of women's businesses. Through these programmes, more than 500 women across the country, including in Transnistria and Gagauzia, received consultative, educational and financial assistance.

The EU4Business initiative also supports women entrepreneurs in Moldova through the EBRD’s Women in Business programme, which offers business advice to help women-led SMEs in Moldova to become more competitive. The programme also offers training, mentoring and other support to enable women entrepreneurs to share experiences and learn from each other as peers.
