On 4 June in Kyiv, the International Trade Centre (ITC) presented the Road Map for development of the Ukrainian berries sector (2019-2024) during events at the largest international agricultural exhibition in Ukraine and Eastern Europe – AGRO 2019.

The presentation was carried out in the framework of ‘Eastern Partnership: Ready to Trade’ project, funded by the European Union as part of its EU4Business initiative.

The event attracted key market participants, both from Ukraine and abroad, including representatives of berry sector SMEs, ministries, regional authorities, international projects, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Ukraine, business support organisations, educational institutions and the media.

The project presented the current situation of the berries business in Ukraine, its challenges and endeavours, and there was a fruitful discussion between state and business representatives on required support to the sector.

Implementation of the Road Map will now be handed over to the Ukrainian government and state institutions, business support organisations and other designated actors. This initiative will contribute to the strengthening of the export capacity of Ukrainian berry producers and processors.

The Eastern Partnership: Ready to Trade project helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to access new markets with a focus on the EU, helping SMEs identify and comply with quality and standards to meet international requirements, linking them with buyers along the value chain, and providing cluster support.
