The Organisation for the Development of the Small and Medium Enterprises Sector of the Republic of Moldova (ODIMM) and the Moldova-Romania Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CBCIRM-RO) have agreed to develop a partnership to support and promote entrepreneurs in both countries.

According to Constantin Vieru, president of CBCIRM-RO, "The main goal for CBCIRM-RO and ODIMM is to develop and support the small and medium business of the Republic of Moldova. We aim to contribute to the promotion of domestic producers in domestic and foreign markets, as well as to attract investments, to implement inter-regional and international programmes, to provide methodological and organisational assistance in implementing the necessary measures for the development of business support infrastructure," Vieru said.

The Parties agreed to share information and to associate with the use of development infrastructure, especially at the local level, in order to increase the efficiency of efforts to assist SMEs by sharing certain costs.

The ODIMM has signed similar collaboration agreements with similar institutions, including the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the Republic of Moldova, the France-Moldova Chamber of Commerce, and the Italian-Moldovan Chamber of Commerce.

ODIMM develops and implements programmes and projects designed to support the ideas of entrepreneurs wishing to develop their own business. ODIMM is a public institution, created by the Government of the Republic of Moldova in 2007, and acts in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.

The Moldovan government is committed to implement reforms to support the development of SMEs. EU4Business programmes complement these efforts by improving access to finance, helping SMEs move into foreign markets and providing training to build up business skills. Specific technical help is available to Moldovan SMEs to make sure they can make the most of the country’s free trade agreement with the EU.
