The Science and Technology Entrepreneurship (STEP) programme has launched a new funding cycle to provide tech start-ups with money to get their products to market and create new ventures.
STEP funds teams of scientists, researchers, engineers working in fields like Biotech, CleanTech and engineering. Those that receive grants will get:
- Access to seed funding
- Mentoring and network opportunities
- Links with potential investors
Funding
Ten grants will be available in 2017-2018, each worth a maximum of €15 000 over twelve months. Each project will have to have 5% of co-financing to match the grant amount.
How to apply
Applicants must be start-ups made up of at least two people operating in the high-tech sector. All applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Armenia living in the country at the time the application is submitted.
Deadline for applications: 17 February 2017.

STEP is part of the "Support to SME Development in Armenia" (SMEDA) project, which is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ PSD SC Regional Programme, in cooperation with Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF). SMEDA is part of EU4Business.
