A group of international experts on post-harvest and business development will be in Ukraine from 22-26 July to advise local berry producers, in a visit organised by the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Ukrainian Berries Association (UBA) as part of the EU-funded project ‘Eastern Partnership: Ready to Trade – an EU4Business initiative’.

The ITC experts plan to visit nine export-oriented berry companies, including seven farms and two processing companies in Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Rivne regions. The experts will inspect post-harvest activities and assess the companies’ export readiness, and help them to further develop individual plans.

This visit serves as a field due diligence activity for a post-harvest training and one-on-one advisory services to berry producers, which will take place in September. Individual consulting will focus on business development and exports to EU market. National business development consultants, under general ITC supervision, will share best practice in international trade with small and medium-sized berry enterprises.

The trainings will be conducted by the ITC international experts.  Selected National specialists will also receive training for trainers enabling them to pass knowledge on the ground.

The Ready to Trade project, funded by the European Union under its EU4Business initiative, works with SMEs in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine to help them target and access foreign markets, with a special focus on the EU.
