The new database will provide a range of information on Georgian wine producers and help them to explore export opportunities in the EU

New opportunities are opening for Georgian winemakers and wine-lovers through a new EU-funded programme to spur growth in exports of Georgian wine to the EU market.

The new online database being developed will provide a range of information about wine producers in Georgia and at the same time, help the producers themselves access key information about wine export opportunities to European Union countries.

One hundred companies, mainly from Georgia’s Kakheti and Kartli regions, were selected and interviewed to feature on the new website, which will share information about their production, pricing and availability for export.

Since Georgia signed its Association Agreement with the EU in June 2014, new opportunities for local SMEs have emerged thanks to the EU-Georgia Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA), which has brought benefits and duty-free trade with the EU.
