Companies from Armenia have secured trade deals for dried and canned fruits, jams, juices, and herbs at BioFach 2019, the world’s leading trade fair for organic products, in Nuremberg, Germany.

Four Armenian companies took part in the trade fair, between 14 and 16 February, thanks to the support of the International Trade Centre ‘Ready to Trade’ project, funded by the European Union under its EU4Business initiative. Together with the Organic Agriculture Support Initiative (OASI), Ready to Trade helped organise the Armenian booth, develop marketing materials and arranged B2B meetings at the fair.

During the course of the fair, each company had more than twenty B2B meetings with leading European buyers, including from France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

“Thanks to ITC Ready to Trade, we were able to present our products at one of the most important food fairs and find new buyers. It was an amazing experience,” said Marina Khachaturyan, Head of the International Relations and Exports Department at Ararat Food Factory, Armenia.

In preparation for the event, the participating companies also took part in the ‘Effective Participation in International Expo’ training organised by the Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Centre of Armenia.

The Eastern Partnership: Ready to Trade project helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to access new markets with a focus on the EU, helping SMEs identify and comply with quality and standards to meet international requirements, linking them with buyers along the value chain, and providing cluster support.
