The industrial policy training in Bangkok
Armenia
 |

With the support of the EU-SMEDA project, a representative from the Industrial Policy Department of Armenia’s Ministry of Economic Development and Investments recently took part in a 5-day training course on ‘Enhancing the Quality of Industrial Policy’ held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Armenia needs to develop a new industrial policy, to follow on from the previous policy in the field for 2012-2016. The Ministry of Economic Development plans to develop the new policy in line with international best practices and recommendations.

The training was therefore a valuable opportunity for the Ministry’s expert to build on new knowhow and develop capacity about topics such as:

  • Industrial Policy Design methodology
  • Industrial Capacity and Growth
  • Industrial Employment and Poverty alleviation
  • Strengthening National Industrial Policy Design Capabilities

The EU4Business SMEDA (Support to SME Development in Armenia) project supports the improvement of the business and investment climate for SMEs in Armenia. It aims to strengthen the private sector, support SME coordination mechanisms, and foster links between research institutions and the private sector, as well as providing access to finance for SMEs.
