The Sumy Business Support Centre is organising a workshop on 26 October on new funding opportunities for SMEs, with the support of the EBRD and the EU4Business initiative.
This all-day event is aimed at owners, financial directors, and managers of SMEs from any industry. The afternoon, session will include a roundtable on practical aspects of SME funding in the Sumy region and a paid workshop on writing grant applications (cost of participation – UAH 400).
The workshop aims to:
- familiarise participants the European experience of SME funding provided by banks and other financial institutions;
- define the problems and prospects of bank lending to SMEs in the Sumy region;
- analyse business opportunities for attracting grants;
- understand the significance of monetary policy for the expansion of bank lending. Estimates of the NBU on the prospects of Ukraine’s economy development.
The Sumy Business Support Centre is part of the EU-funded Network of Business Support Centres, which aims to improve the competitiveness and bankability of Ukrainian SMEs through the provision of business advice and capacity building. It also supports BSOs in 15 regions of Ukraine in setting up a network of EU4Business Business Support Centres (BSCs). At least 30,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs benefit from the project.
