17/05/2017 to 21/05/2017

If you are a graphic designer or artist and want to learn a new skill then apply for the training workshop in graphic recording taking place in Yerevan from 17 to 21 May.

Graphic recorders combine the skills of a note-taker and an artist to visually represent information communicated orally. Examples of services they provide include creating visual summaries of conference speakers' presentations and providing graphic facilitation for organisations doing strategic planning.

They may work on their own, providing straight recording services (such as summaries of the key points of speakers at a large conference), or pair up with facilitators, consultants and other discussion leaders, as part of a team providing graphic facilitation services (mostly in strategic planning and visioning settings).

The workshop, organised by the SMEDA (Support to SME Development in Armenia) project co-funded under the EU4Business initiative, consists of two days of graphic recording training followed by three days of training on the job.

It aims to build capacity by training 15 selected Armenian artists and graphic designers in this field - with the goal of enabling them to provide innovative offers in the future.

During the workshop, which will be conducted in English, specific topics will be addressed, such as: graphical development of different topics for businesses, and the NGO and public sectors; producing a graphic element toolkit; strategies for capturing knowledge and discussions; graphic recording as a commercial service, and; synthesising information into expressive visualisations. A large part of the workshop will involve practical exercises.
