Armenian technology startups are encouraged to apply to participate in a unique tech and entrepreneurship conference in Salamanca, Spain, on 26 and 27 April 2017.
Startup Olé aims to drive entrepreneurship by connecting startups like yours with investors, accelerators, policymakers, universities and innovative corporations.
The SMEDA (Support to SME Development in Armenia) project, part of the EU4Business programme, will fund up to 10 Armenian tech startups to attend Startup Olé. The aim is to match you with funders and serial entrepreneurs at the event who can act as mentors and business advisers to help your company grow.
The many benefits of participating in this conference include:
- A space to present your business to over 1,000 other participants at the two-day event
- Visibility in various channels (website, newsletter and social media)
- Opportunity to take part in the Startup Olé pitching competition
- Opportunity to participate in matchmaking events with investors and
innovative corporations.
Selection criteria
Applicants will be awarded a place based on:
- Story of your development over the past year
- Potential to expand internationally, particularly to European markets
- Potential to scale up products and raise external capital
- Ability to present your company in good business English.
A shortlist of up to 15 companies will be chosen by a judging panel made up from representatives of SMEDA, the EIF, SMEDNC, the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment, and the EU Delegation in Armenia.
Applications should be in by 15 March and the winners will be selected from the shortlist by Startup Olé and representatives of StartupEurope by 19 March.
If your company is selected your travel expenses, accommodation and visa will be covered by SMEDA. The event will cost you a minimum of €50 to fund your presentation at the event.
