On 17 October, the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO) is organising a major event in Kyiv to present the way government inspections are changing and what it means for business.
At present, 99% of business inspections detect violations, because the activities of inspection bodies are aimed at applying sanctions. But in May 2018, the government launched a risk-based approach that changes the rules for conducting inspections. From now on, inspection bodies should focus on a transparent assessment of business entities and risk prevention, and businesses need to know when and why the inspector will come to see them.
What this means for businesses and what they should expect in 2019 will be laid out at the event, which is organised as part of the European SME Week being held in Ukraine during September-November 2018.
The event brings together on one platform government leaders, the heads of inspections, business and business associations, experts and the public. The organisers will present the Business entities risk rating, the inspections rating and the online "Risk Management Board" service, which will allow entrepreneurs to plan their activities more effectively due to the possibility of online interactions with the inspections. The participants will elaborate in detail the new state requirements for business, plans of inspections for 2019 and directly raise the topical issues to the heads of inspections and the Government.
The event is organized within the European SME Week held in Ukraine during September-November 2018.
Among the speakers will be Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and EU Head of Delegation Ambassador Hugues Mingarelli, as well as the head of the BRDO Alexey Goncharuk.
As part of its activities, the BRDO has created an Inspection Portal (inspections.gov.ua), aimed at providing transparency in business inspections. The platform includes:
- all inspection plans online,
- all regulations and business requirements for inspections in one place
- all results of inspections, sanctions and appeal results online.
The BRDO is funded by the European Union within the framework of the FORBIZ project and the EU4Business Initiative, with the aim of simplifying the process of doing business and providing effective state regulation in key sectors of the economy.
