On 11 June, the Business Angel Network of Armenia is hosting “Two years winged: What’s next?”, an international conference supported by the EU-SMEDA project, funded by the European Union under its EU4Business initiative.
The conference is organised for ICT Business leaders and investors. It will be attended by Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, Minister of High-Tech Industry Hakob Arshakyan, Ambassador Piotr Antoni Świtalski, Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, and Jesus Lozano, the Co-Founder at Madrid Angels.
The special guest of the conference will be Maurice Beckand Verwee, the Founder of International Crosspring. Maurice started angel investing in 2005 after his work at a Dutch based VC. He invests in seed stage ICT startups, including Armenia-based ones. Maurice uses his company Crosspring to invest in startups as a lead investor or as a syndicate partner. He is an Angel at BANA and was an adviser for BANA since its establishment.
The EU4Business SMEDA project supports the improvement of the business and investment climate for SMEs in Armenia. It aims to strengthen the private sector, support SME coordination mechanisms, and foster links between research institutions and the private sector, as well as providing access to finance for SMEs.
