Production and management staff of private sector SMEs involved in garment production in Belarus have until 10 August to apply for a training on production efficiency, taking place in Minsk from 27 August to 5 September
The training is organised by the International Trade Centre as part of the ‘Eastern Partnership: Ready to Trade’ project, funded by the European Union in the framework of its EU4Business initiative, together with the Belarusian Fund for Financial Support to Entrepreneurs.
It will be led by two international experts from India, Ganapathy Kandasamy Nanthakumar and Rebecca Herbert.
The training will include:
- Practical training on effective production skills and "fast sewing" techniques.
- Training of specialists – trainers, who can subsequently train staff at their enterprises.
- Introduction of efficient production techniques at garment enterprises that increase the productivity of the workforce by 15%-20% per month.
- Implementation of a sewing production planning system using the SOP methodology.
- Implementation of KPI systems for sewing enterprise personnel.
- Tracking the productivity of sewing personnel according to the MIS methodology.
Training methodology:
Prior to the training, an evaluation questionnaire will be sent to the enterprises, listing problematic issues (available technical constraints and production limitations, etc.).
Based on these questionnaires, recommendations will be provided and a training programme developed taking into account the specific nature of each enterprise. During the training, it is planned to analyse the problems indicated in the questionnaires as well as to discuss and to provide specific recommendations on the introduction of improvements.
During the seminar, video materials will be shown, technological processes will be analysed, best techniques and practices will be demonstrated. The trainees will master the skills in practice under the supervision of experts. After the training, all participants will receive video manuals and other methodological material for conducting training at their enterprises.
In addition, after the seminar, international experts will monitor the pilot group of enterprises for two months, during which the enterprises will be able to receive additional consultations.
Eastern Partnership: Ready to Trade - an EU4Business initiative helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to access new markets with a focus on the EU, helping SMEs identify and comply with quality and standards to meet international requirements, linking them with buyers along the value chain, and providing cluster support.
In Belarus, the project supports the textile and clothing sector, assisting SMEs in producing value added goods in accordance with international and EU market requirements and linking with EU markets. While the project is mainly focused on SMEs, some targeted assistance to local BSOs, including national trade promotion organisations, is also provided. Support is directed to helping companies access the EU market, through targeted capacity-building, advisory services and market access activities.
