On 11 October, the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO), together with the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (UUE), will publish their ‘Regional Doing Business 2018’ ranking on the ease of doing business in Ukrainian cities, developed according to the World Bank methodology.
The authors have selected five types of interaction between entrepreneurs and local authorities: local taxes; enterprise creation; constructions permits; registration of a plot of land under the real estate object; connection to the power grid. The main criteria for evaluation were the money and time spent on passing the official procedures, as well as the number of visits to the state/local authorities. In addition to immediate results, the respectiveadministrations will also receive recommendations on how to improve the situation.
The event aims to raise awareness on the ease of doing business in Ukrainian cities for entrepreneurs, investors and local authorities, with the aim of improving and standardizing procedures. It will also help to define which Ukrainian cities are able to compete for development funding.
The BRDO is funded by the European Union within the framework of the FORBIZ project and the EU4Business Initiative, with the aim of simplifying the process of doing business and providing effective state regulation in key sectors of the economy.
