The two-year project to implement the Republic of Moldova’s Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) with the EU comes to an end in August 2017. The press conference on 23 August will take stock of the achievements of this EU-funded project.
The project, coordinated by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Moldova, worked to help beneficiaries to align their Quality Infrastructure (QI) and Market Surveillance (MS) with those of the AA/DCFTA, enhance the competitiveness of Moldovan SMEs as well as improve overall awareness of the agreement. These objectives were in line with those of the DCFTA SRC (Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area) Sector Reform Contract.
€2.3 million was spent and beneficiaries included the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, the Moldovan National Accreditation Centre, the Applied Metrology and Certification Centre, the National Institute of Metrology, the National Institute of Standardisation the Consumer Protection Agency, National Food Safety Agency, the Technical Centre for Industrial Security and Certification, the Small and Medium-Sized Sector Development Organisation and the Moldovan Investment and Export Promotion Agency
