An entrepreneur needs 225 days to register a land plot for a real estate project in Odessa. The same procedure takes 93 days in Vinnitsa. Find out what is being done to tackle regional differences at the event presenting the study ‘Regional Doing Business. The Rating of Ukrainian Cities’.
The study is a joint project of Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO) supported by FORBIZ project and the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP). The rating characterizes the state of the investment climate and the attractiveness of cities in the country.
World Bank methodology was used to assess the cities and five areas of interaction between entrepreneurs and local authorities were analysed:
• paying of local taxes
• creating an enterprise
• obtaining construction permits
• registering a land plot for a real estate project
• getting connected to the electricity grid.
The amount of money and time spent on formal procedures was assessed as well as the number of visits made to state / local authorities.
All regional centres and Kiev were assessed, with the exception of Crimea Sevastopol.
The presentation is part of the Days of Entrepreneurship - a series of events that will be held from 3 to 8 September 2017 in Ukraine’s largest cities: Kiev; Dnipro; Lviv and Odessa. The events are organised by the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP).
