The forthcoming OECD Eurasia Week in Paris will once again bring together regional stakeholders in order to strengthen relations and identify key common business challenges that the region is facing. The theme this year is ‘Productivity and Resilience in Eurasia’.
Strengthening relations
The OECD Eurasia Week 2016, due to take place in Paris between 22 and 24 November 2016, builds on the work of the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Programme. Its key objective is to provide opportunities to further strengthen relations between the countries of the Eurasia region and the OECD.
This year’s event is also an opportunity to raise the visibility of successful cooperation on a broad range of issues that are relevant to improving the region’s competitiveness. To this end, the OECD Eurasia Week will feature several high-level policy dialogue discussions designed to share best practices and experiences in addressing common challenges.
The event will include:
- A policy dialogue session on SMEs in Central Asia
- The annual meeting of the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Roundtable
- A panel discussion on improving trade and transport connectivity
- Thematic conferences on topics of relevance to the Eurasia region
- The annual meeting of the Steering Committees of the OECD Eastern Europe and South Caucasus Initiative and the OECD Central Asia Initiative
The draft agenda for the 2016 event is available online.
