On 14 December, the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO), supported by the EU4Business FORBIZ project will present its concept for the development of the market for electricity charging stations at an event in Kyiv.

The development of the market for electric vehicles in Ukraine is restrained by the need to resolve a number of issues for their service. In particular, the status of electric charging stations, with conditions for the connection to power grids not regulated.

Existing barriers cannot be eliminated at the level of secondary legislation; it is necessary to create an appropriate legislative framework for the market of electricity charging stations, according to the BRDO.

Experts from the BRDO have now conducted a thorough research on regulation of the markets for electricity and energy efficiency, and developed the concept for the development of the market of electricity charging stations in Ukraine.

Part of the EU4Business initiative, the EU-funded FORBIZ project supports Ukraine’s reform agenda and its economic recovery by proposing a systemic change to a more business-friendly environment with a particular focus on SMEs. The project seeks to steer a shift in policy towards greater recognition of SMEs and the vital role they play in economic recovery, while addressing the challenge of reducing regulatory burden and lessening risk for businesses.
