On 29 May, the Dnipro Business Support Centre is organising an all-day forum on ‘Opportunities for SMEs in the light of decentralisation processes’, with the support of the EBRD as part of the EU4Business initiative.

The forum will provide SMEs with an opportunity to communicate directly with the leaders of united territorial communities (UTC) in the Dnipropetrovsk region as well as receive information about current investment projects, familiarise themselves with the peculiarities of how UTC budgets are drawn up, identify the benefits that can be offered by the community and local business, and see the best practices already working for SME development in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The purposes of the event are as follows:

  • improve the dialogue between SMEs, potential contractors and investors, and the local government administrations and regional structures available to support investors;
  • raise awareness about UTC proposals to ensure business development and ways to influence the development of different projects;
  • develop the business climate;
  • improve the financial, administrative, logistic, personnel and social infrastructure in order to support SMEs in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The Dnipro Business Support Centre is part of the EU-funded Network of Business Support Centres, which aims to improve the competitiveness and bankability of Ukrainian SMEs through the provision of business advice and capacity building. It also supports BSOs in 15 regions of Ukraine in setting up a network of EU4Business Business Support Centres (BSCs). At least 30,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs benefit from the project.
