Forum to discuss creation of Sumy tourism cluster

The Sumy Business Support Centre is organising a tourism forum on 9 November, supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development under the EU4Business initiative of the European Union. The deadline for registration is 6 November.

The Forum – titled ‘Sumy Tourism Cluster - for Creation and Online Promotion’ – is aimed at representatives of the tourism business (tour operators, hotel and restaurant business, carriers, leisure establishments, souvenir producers), mass media, the public and authorities, with the hope of moving towards a joint action plan for the formation of a tourist cluster in the Sumy region for the further successful promotion of goods and services.

The first part of the Forum will include presentations by representatives of the government, tourism business and Internet marketing on the issues of modern trends in the tourism business, and the creation of an effective model of cooperation of tourism business with the local authorities. Participants in the forum will also have an opportunity to get acquainted with the experience of formation of tourist clusters, the development of this industry in the Sumy region, features of online promotion of tourism business and obtaining information on business opportunities from the EBRD.

The second part of the Forum will be structured around a series of parallel thematic panels:

  • Panel №1 "Internet Marketing for the Tourist Business: attraction of customers; development and implementation of social media strategies; development of targeted advertisement; creation of chat bots”
  • Panel №2 "Development of business in the field of tourism through association"
  • Panel number 3 "The role of territorial communities in the development of tourism in the region"
  • Panel №4 "Culture and Tourism"
  • Panel №5 "Active tourism in the Sumy region"

The Sumy Business Support Centre is part of the EU-funded Network of Business Support Centres, which aims to improve the competitiveness and bankability of Ukrainian SMEs through the provision of business advice and capacity building. It also supports BSOs in 15 regions of Ukraine in setting up a network of EU4Business Business Support Centres (BSCs). At least 30,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs will benefit from the project.
