The German city of Hamburg hosts the German-Georgian Business Forum on 18 October, with the Georgian delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Nino Javakhadze.
The Forum will bring together senior Georgian officials, business leaders from Georgia and Germany, as well as representatives of credit and finance institutions, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The Forum will involve B2B meetings between Georgian and German companies from the following sectors:
- Infrastructure
- Transportation and logistics
- Energy
- Manufacture
- Agriculture
Presentations and panel discussions will include trade and investment opportunities, Georgia as a regional logistic hub between the EU and China’s ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative, financing of investments, and the modernisation of agriculture in Georgia.
Through its EU4Business initiative, the European Union supports the Georgian government in its ambitious plan to reform and improve the business environment. EU4Business programmes, many of them implemented by the EBRD, boost SME growth by improving access to finance and new markets. SMEs looking to make the most of Georgia’s Free Trade Agreement with the EU can also get financial and technical help to adapt to EU standards and to move into foreign markets.
