A forum is taking place in Sumy on 15 March on ‘Organic production in the Sumy region: technologies, business models’, organised by Business Support Centre in Sumy with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) under the EU4Business initiative. The deadline for registration is 12 March.
The aim of the forum is to familiarise the owners of micro, small and medium-sized businesses in the agricultural sector, including individual peasant farms, as well as farmers, with organic production technologies. The event is aimed at farmers who currently use organic techniques, or plan to use them, and seeks to promote the development of this sector in Ukraine
The first part of the Forum will include presentations of modern agro-technologies in organic production, the creation of a profitable economy built on the principles of sustainable development, risk assessment in organic production, the basic rules of biosecurity, and phyto-monitoring during the annual cycle of production.
The second part of the Forum includes three simultaneous events:
- Paid workshop on ‘Organic Greenhouse as a Profitable Business’;
- Workshop on ‘Technologies for improving the economic efficiency of organic production’;
- Workshop provided by the ‘Organic Agriculture Club’ – success story in a small organic business.
The Sumy Business Support Centre is part of the EU-funded Network of Business Support Centres, implemented in Ukraine by the EBRD, with the aim of improving improve the competitiveness and bankability of Ukrainian SMEs through the provision of business advice and capacity building. At least 30,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs will benefit from the project.
