The ‘Empowering Regions through High-Tech 2018’ Forum will be held in Gyumri, Armenia from 7-8 December, with the support of the EU4Business ‘Support to SME development in Armenia’ (SMEDA) project. The forum will host more than 200 young people from all regions of Armenia engaged in high-tech and innovation.
There will be three main directions for panel discussions and presentations: “Local entrepreneurship ecosystem level-up”, “International business challenges in the regions”, “Technology’s impact on non-tech industries”.
The Forum aims to:
- Present successful start-up experiences, products and companies from the participant regions
- Identify opportunities for regions to be part of the global IT and high-tech network
- Identify new models of cooperation with universities to develop a startup ecosystem
- Provide opportunities for tech startups to establish partnerships with non-tech SME
The EU4Business SMEDA project supports the improvement of the business and investment climate for SMEs in Armenia. It aims to strengthen the private sector, support SME coordination mechanisms, and foster links between research institutions and the private sector, as well as providing access to finance for SMEs.
