Social responsibility and labour standards in the context of EU market entry

On 20 March, the International Trade Centre (ITC) in partnership with the Ukrainian Berries Association (UBA) and Nestle Ukraine is organising a one-day training in Kyiv on social responsibility of business and core labour standards in the context of EU market entry. 

The training is being held in the framework of the ‘Eastern Partnership: Ready to Trade’ project, funded by the European Union as part of its EU4Business initiative.

The main objective of the training is to raise the awareness of Ukrainian berry companies regarding the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) to address sustainable development and global market trends.

Beneficiaries will get practical recommendations as to the importance of CSR implementation, based on Nestle Ukraine experience.

The agendawillalso includethe following topics: public movement on CSR, UN International Labour Organisation convention, Ethics and Conduct Code for Suppliers, Standards and Practical guide of CSR implementation. At the end, companies will participate in a round-table discussion and will learn more about CSR audit requirements.

The trainer will be Natalia Popova, an expert and technical manager at the Certification and Business Enhancement Department with profound experience in quality management systems and CSR programmes.

The Eastern Partnership: Ready to Trade project helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to access new markets with a focus on the EU, helping SMEs identify and comply with quality and standards to meet international requirements, linking them with buyers along the value chain, and providing cluster support.
