Azeri entrepreneurs are getting ready to trade globally

As part of EU Days dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Eastern Partnership, the International Trade Centre (ITC) Ready to Trade project and the Project on Development of Competitiveness in Key Non-Oil Manufacturing Sectors of the Economy of Azerbaijan,implemented by the Latvian Chamber of Commerce,are organising a training for Azerbaijani entrepreneurs from the western part of the country. 

The training will be held on 21 May at the Kur Hotel in Mingachevir and will provide SMEs with information about export promotion, e-commerce as well as business support organisations in the country and beyond. 

The first part of the training aims to help companies prepare for exports. Entrepreneurs will learn about SWOT analysis, certification as well as ways to identify new niches for business. ITC trainer Eldar Adilzade will talk about the main challenges that Azerbaijani SMEs face in trade, based on ITC survey results.

SMEs will hear about best payment solutions and fiscal issues in the EU trade zone during the second part of the training. ITC trainer Mohamed Es Fih will teach entrepreneurs how to do e-commerce and reach new markets through digital channels. 

During the third part Janis Butkevics of Latvian Chamber of Commerce will talk about business support organisations, specifically about business associations and how to effectively engage with them. He will share his insights on the operational issues of business associations and clustering.

Ready to Trade and Development of Competitiveness in Key Non-oil Manufacturing Sectors of the Economy of Azerbaijanare projects funded by the European Union. 

The Eastern Partnership: Ready to Trade project helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to access new markets with a focus on the EU, helping SMEs identify and comply with quality and standards to meet international requirements, linking them with buyers along the value chain, and providing cluster support.
